- glycoalkaloids found in green potatoes
- fungal toxins that sometimes contaminate food
- glucosinolates in cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts and canola
- erucic acid in canola
- psoralens in celery
- cyanogenic glycosides in bitter almonds
- substances in poisonous species of fish and mushrooms.
